Goldberg & de Villiers Inc. based in Port Elizabeth is seeking to appoint an associate in its Litigation, Arbitration & Mediation Department.

Job description, duties and responsibilities:

Draft and review pleadings, notices, affidavits, heads of argument and make court appearances at motion proceedings and at trial. Attend meetings with clients to discuss matters, report to clients as required, take instructions from the client and potential witnesses and also conduct research and write opinions.

Essential qualities: Must have an excellent understanding of the litigation process and strong administrative skills. Excellent communication, negotiation and drafting skills. Analytical ability and strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritise workload, take responsibility, act independently (when required) subject to supervision and be a team player providing support to lead attorneys and work under pressure.
